Further Away (feat. Tawiah)

A 13 track dubstep single (1h 3m ) — released January 10th 2011 on Tru Thoughts

In perfect synthesis with Maddslinky’s swirling, spacious and deeply atmospheric dub-flavoured beats, new Warners signing Tawiah’s unique vocals marry her contemporary and down-to-earth, homegrown style with a genuinely affecting sense of heightening emotional drama, giving “Further Away†an arrestingly immediate yet lasting appeal. The song was voted No. 3 Track of the Year in Gilles Peterson’s 2010 Worldwide Awards earlier this year. The single release of “Further Away†includes a dazzling array of remixes from the hottest underground talent around, including Falty DL (Planet Mu, Ramp Records), Illum Sphere (3024, Hoya Hoya, Fat City), fellow Tru Thoughts bass monster, Hint; Funk Butcher, El B, Dawn Raid, Dubchild and more. Testament to his status within the scene, Maddslinky has just taken part in BBC Radio 1/1Xtra’s Dubstep Soundclash night, as a pundit alongside Mista Jam, commenting on the live DJ battles and audience responses. “Further Away†and other tracks from ‘Make A Change’ have had immense radio support from DJs including Benji B (BBC Radio 1), Annie Mac (BBC Radio 1), MistaJam (1Xtra), Ras Kwame (Radio 1/1Xtra), Alex Nut (Rinse FM), Seb Chew (Rinse FM) and Ross Allen (Ministry). The album is springing up in 2010 ‘Best Of’ lists all over the place, including Clash and DJ Mag, and the MJ Cole Back To The Future Remix of first single, “Special†feat. Omar, is currently up for a DJ Mag Best Of British Award.
